Sacraments at Our School: A Guide for Parents
Our school continues its commitment to assist families in their spiritual support for children during their sacrament journey. Parents who want to enroll their child in the First Communion process need this fundamental information.

The school provides First Communion services to students in Grade 2 (or similar level) but the specific requirements may differ between our parish and school. Children to receive this sacrament - three conditions must be fulfilled.
- A baptismal record shows that the student received the sacrament of baptism.
- The students need to demonstrate a basic understanding of Catholic teachings as well as Eucharist sacrament meaning.
- Students must regularly attend religious education programs through our school or parish programs.
Students will receive prior notification from the school administration about any needed preparatory classes they must take.
Eligibility for First Communion

The school delivers Sacrament of First Communion education to students through its catechism program. The sacramental preparation combines religious teaching with spiritual growth through the following elements:
- Religious education classes within the school curriculum teach students about Eucharist meaning as well as Mass importance and Catholic faith responsibilities.
- All parents must join school-based information meetings or sessions which explain child spiritual development together with Mass procedures.
- Students will practice the Mass procedures through participation in First Communion Masses before the actual event.
Preparation for First Communion

The First Communion date depends on your local parish to establish. The school will supply sacramental timeline details yet the Mass celebration will be scheduled by your parish. Reach out to your local parish to find out the specific Mass day and other sacramental requirements.
Sacrament Dates

- First Communion participants commonly wear special attire for this occasion. You should check the official dress code rules which will become available near the scheduled date.
- A small fee exists for sacramental materials and preparation costs which goes toward books and resources and retreat expenses.
- After the sacrament families might choose to host a reception. The school and parish will disclose plans for combined events to families before the celebration occurs.
