Outsourced Services at Christ the King Academy

A Holistic Approach to Education and Support

At Christ the King Academy, we know that a high quality education is about more than just grades. We are committed to ensure that every child has every tool they need to succeed not only in school but in life. We use external resources from different trusted partners such as the Catholic Sacraments, healthcare services, and community organizations. These resources help our students to acquire all round development and therefore, their spiritual, emotional, and physical development is nurtured.

Catholic Sacraments and Faith Formation

The Sacraments are an important part of the spiritual development of our students and we make sure that they are able to receive these holy sacrifices as part of their day to day learning. Whether it is for First Communion or Confirmation or any other activity, Christ the King Academy provides an ideal environment for the spiritual development of the children.

We also have our students engage in the Catholic community in a larger sense and work with local parishes and dioceses to provide more spiritual activities and retreats. We want our students to embrace academic success, but also to embrace their spiritual, social and moral self.

Partnership with CHEO (Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario); coming soon

We understand that every student is unique and has different needs in order to excel in their academic and personal lives. In order to ensure that our students get all the help they require, we are currently in the process of acquiring School-Based Rehabilitation Services (SBRS) from Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO); which is one of Canada’s major pediatric hospitals. This way, students at Christ the King Academy is able to benefit from (SBRS) program which supports students with rehabilitation needs in the school setting to help them fully participate in the school curriculum.

The partnership with CHEO brings, services that include:

  • Occupational Therapy (OT)
  • Physiotherapy (PT)
  • Speech-language Pathology (SLP)

Community Churches and Religious Assistance

On the other hand, we are able to offer partnerships with local parishes in the Ottawa area to extend the religious education and support of students beyond the school environment. Some of the activities that a student can engage in include; faith formation, retreats and community service. Our link with these parishes also assists families in getting spiritual and emotional encouragement if they need it. These partnerships enable us to be more holistic in addressing the student’s academic, emotional, spiritual and social needs.

Social and Emotional Development

Apart from the academic support, Christ the King Academy provides assistance in the social and emotional development of students. We also opine that children should learn positive ways of interacting with their peers and other people. The link with community organizations such as CHEO can provide social skills training, peer mentoring, and conflict resolution which enhance students’ self-esteem and emotional intelligence.
